Walking in this wonderfully mild winter, the river is always in my view, hiding behind trees and glistening in the light. One day, walking with my husband and my brother, we rounded the corner and saw a magnificent sunset glowing through the trees. I thought to capture this in cloth, using a piece of Melody Johnson's hand dyes and threadpainting-quilted tree branches.
