February

Flying to visit a friend, we set out to see a quilt show, but went to the wrong airport, and missed the show. It was wonderful to visit Carolyn and her husband and see her quilts anyway. Flying over New Jersey, you could see the houses and trees, farms and roads, but the lakes were like windows to another universe, glimpses of sky beyond the earth. I loved the patchwork of farmland, especially where pine forests brought greens to the brown land. I searched for the right sky fabric all month; finally found it in my scrap box from pieces I'd dyed last year and saved just in case.
